Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that supplies its results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services may keep ordinary logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review that information in aggregate to operate and improve the service. Cookies or similar tools can support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
What We Do With This Data
We use this information to operate the reference, diagnose issues, understand aggregate traffic, and improve its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
County and state portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored search tools have their own privacy practices. Their policies control information submitted on those services, including data entered into a sponsored-result tool.
Who Might See Your Data
Hosting and support providers process logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners can receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
How We Protect Your Data
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are kept no longer than needed for the purposes described here. Because there are no accounts, the site does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data a service holds. Michigan did not have a generally applicable consumer data-privacy opt-out law in force in the research reviewed; proposed legislation is not treated as current law. Because this site keeps little information, a request usually concerns a contact message or relevant log data. Use the Contact page. Public files kept by Michigan, Kent County, or Wyoming custodians are outside our control and must be addressed to that office.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
